I’m Tara deVos — author, storyteller, and founder of Moss & Lantern Books.

Inspired by nature, sensitive childhoods, and the quiet magic woven through everyday life, I create stories that nurture wonder, emotional connection, imagination, and belonging.

With a background in counseling and a lifelong connection to animals and the natural world, my work is rooted in gentleness, presence, and the belief that children flourish when given space to grow wild and true.

I live in the Pacific Northwest with my family and many beloved animals, where forest walks, muddy boots, bedtime stories, and seasonal rhythms continue to inspire the worlds I create.
